About the Type 99A – Main Battle Tank:
The Type 99A is the newest and coolest looking variant of the Chinese Type 99 main battle tank (MBT). As the current MBT of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, the Type 99A has several of the primary features seen on modern MBTs. These include a computerized 125mm smoothbore cannon with carousel-style autoloader and antitank guided missiles. One unusual and unique technological marvel seen on the Type 99A is a laser communication device, which can be used for sending line-of-sight encrypted transmissions in the form of text, data, or voice. Unbelievable!

About the AMX-13 Light Tank – Israeli Army – Six-Day War:
Produced for over 30 years (1952–87), the AMX-13 (Char 13t-75 Modèle 51) was an effective and prolific French light tank. Exported to over 25 different nations, the AMX-13 was deployed in more than one hundred different variants. This light tank had a revolutionary design featuring an oscillating turret with an autoloader, eliminating the need for a loader crew member. This permits the tank to have a smaller turret and chassis, reducing the weight and silhouette of the vehicle.
The AMX-13 is often thought of as Israel’s first main battle tank (MBT). It saw major combat with Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) during the Arab-Israeli Six-Day War of 1967. During the war, the IDF deployed three battalions (about 400) of this light tank on fronts against Jordan, Egypt, and Syria. Although it had some tough encounters against heavy Soviet-built tanks such as the IS-3 and T-55, the AMX-13 was a key factor in successfully defeating the Arab nations, forcing a ceasefire and earning Israel new territory including the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and the Golan Heights.

Brickmania’s first AMX-13 kit is representative of those used by the Israeli Defense Forces in the 1967 Six-Day War. The model features the AMX-13’s unique oscillating turret with custom-molded main gun from BrickArms® and 3D-printed muzzle brake from Brickmania. This model has an opening commander’s hatch and comes complete with custom tank commander minifigure. It also includes a custom-printed radiator cover tile and sticker sheet with various unit markings.

About the Opel Blitz – Lightweight Truck
The Opel Blitz was the name given to various German trucks built by the German Opel automobile manufacturer beginning in the 1930s. During World War II, this vehicle was deployed as the main transport truck for the Wehrmacht, serving a similar purpose as the American-built CCKW. The Blitz was used mainly to haul soldiers and supplies to the front, namely ammunition, artillery shells, fuel, and food. The truck could also be used for logistical purposes such as a radio station or mobile command post.

About the M1A2 Abrams:
The M1 Abrams is the current main battle tank (MBT) deployed by the United States Army, United States Marine Corps and several allied nations around the world. It is named after General Creighton Abrams, former Chief of Staff of the US Army. Abrams was the commander of operations during the Vietnam War and also served in Patton’s Third Army during World War II.
The origins of the M1 date back to a joint US-West German tank program during the 1960s. While this project was eventually canceled, the technology developed was used in the German Leopard II and the American M1 Abrams MBTs. The M1 Abrams introduced many innovative features such as an aircraft turbine powerpack, composite “Chobham” armor, and ammunition stowage separated from the crew compartment.
When the Abrams’ original 105mm rifled main gun barrel was replaced with the 120mm smoothbore gun developed for the Leopard II, the tank was re-designated the M1A1. A program to further improve the Abrams was introduced in 1992 and the designation was changed to M1A2.
The Abrams was combat-tested during Operation Desert Storm, outperforming the Russian T-72s of the Iraqi Army. Improvements continue to be made to the Abrams to keep up with technological advances and changing battlefield conditions.

About the M163 VADS – Vulcan Air Defense System Pack for M113:
A replacement for the M42 Duster, the M163 Vulcan Air Defense System (VADS) was first deployed during the Vietnam War. A variant of the M113 that was equipped with a Vulcan 20mm rotary cannon, it was primarily used for infantry support. Six of these armored fighting vehicles were deployed during Vietnam and had to be equipped with flotation kits because of weight added by the 20mm ammunition.
About the M557 – Command Vehicle Pack for M113:
Widespread in use and versatile, the M113 Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) has seen action since April 1962 as the United States took a primary role in the Vietnam War. An effective tracked design, the M113 can be outfitted with an impressive selection of weapons including antiaircraft guns, mortars, and surface-to-air missiles. The M113 can also be converted into a field command vehicle for longer engagements.
About the ACAV Upgrade – Pack for M113:
Largely developed in the field with spare parts, the ACAV variant of the M113 was often paired with the M48 Patton tank for patrols during the Vietnam War. Equipped with an armor pack and three machine guns, the ACAV M113 provided protection for infantry and ground support in skirmishes with enemy forces.

About the Vietnam US LRRP
An elite fighting force, the U.S. LRRP (Long-range reconnaissance patrol) were deployed during the Vietnam War as a part of the 101st Airborne Division. The LRRP were rigorously trained and often had high kill ratios against enemy soldiers. These soldiers were deployed on long missions as front and rear scouts for larger units. These soldiers conducted over 23,000 long-range patrols during the war. In 1969, all LRRP units were transferred to the 75th Infantry Regiment (Ranger).
